Network Specialist (Local Area/WiFi)

Must have MPLS experience. Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a mechanism in high-performance telecommunications networks that directs data from one network node to the next based on short path labels rather than long network addresses, avoiding complex lookups in a routing table.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to understand and work effectively in weak-matrix environments required.
- Experience in the design, implementation, and operations of the following technologies: IP, STP, Trunking, PoE, QoS, VLAN, WiFi/IEEE 802.11, GRE, EAP.
- Certification in Cisco or Juniper required, Experience with Juniper network switches and routers desired.
- Must be able to draw detailed network designs using Visio.
Responsibilities:
- Network Engineering: Makes operational and tactical decisions that can have million dollars per day ramifications (regulatory compliance and cost of downtime).
- While engaged in projects, recommends technology and sourcing strategy to a project manager and senior or principal technologist.
- Must be capable of passing comprehensive background screening for access to critical cyber assets.
