Duration: Long Term

 

Experience Level: 6+ years

  

Must Have Skills: DB2 UDB DBA with XML tuning experience

•             Performance Tuning of DB2 PURE XML features including XQUERY, XPATH, XMLTABLE, etc.  

•             DB2 Performance Tuning this includes but not limited to, rewriting SQL statements, creating/altering indexes, designing MQTs and MDCs,

and using XQUERY functionality.

·         DB2 v8,v9.1,v9.7,v10.1,v10.5 in AIX/LINUX and WINDOWS operating systems.

•             Install, Upgrade and Maintenance of DB2 Software including pre-requisite verification and post install validation.

•             DB2 DPF (Data Partitioning Feature) and HA Cluster (i.e. HACMP) environments.

•             Design & Implementation of New DB2 Instances & Databases in Dev/QA/Prod

•             Managing Security on Database objects (groups, users and roles)

•             Implementing & managing backup and recovery procedures for DB2 UDB databases.

•             Develop shell scripts to automate db2 processes & Deploy the Vendor database scripts.

•             Monitor OVO alerts, Disk space usage, Error log(s), db log space, user activity/ security violations.

•             Using IBM data studio, IBM Optim tools etc.

•             Working with AIX admins for application of OS patches and maintenance required for database servers.

•             Participate on DR/LRU exercise for DB2 UDB databases and dependent applications.

•             Create and manage partitioned tables, MDC and MQT's.

•             Configure TSM and perform cross node recovery, redirect restore databases.

•             24x7 Production Support

•             Ability to Multi-tasking/ Prioritize and troubleshoot priority 1 and 2 incidents immediately and provide root cause analysis.

•             Excellent Oral and Written communication skills to collaborate & effectively work with staff of varying technical expertise.
