Basic Function of Work Group:
This group provides Engineering and Design for the Virtualization Environment including:
o Virtualization platform hardware evaluation, software evaluation, certification and configuration
o Development and maintenance of the baseline/underlying Security & Controls
o Development and maintenance of Design, Implementation and Operations practices to meet Security/ Operational requirements
o Subject matter expertise for Virtualization software and hardware
o Training and support to the Technical Services groups
Job Description:
· Develop virtualization solutions in line with current practices on VMware platforms
· Provide VMware virtualization support to Level 3 operational groups
· Minimum of 3 years of experience providing Level 3 and higher support for VMware environments in Global Enterprise companies
· Participate in global projects where virtualization technologies are developed and utilized
· Provide specific Technical Training to Technical Support groups
· The team works closely with multiple operations groups supporting different virtualized operating systems, including Linux and Windows, to improve overall reliability and efficiency of the virtualization environment
Software Skills
· Linux
· MS Windows
Requirements:
o Candidate needs to have a minimum of 3 years of experience with Level 3 and higher technical support for VMware environments in Global Enterprise companies
o Working knowledge in either of the following platforms:
o Linux
o Windows Server
o Dell Hardware – Virtualization platform runs on standard hardware
o Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Assists with the design, development and maintenance of the computer and network infrastructure
· Typically has at least 3 years of experience and professional degree
· Supports continuous operation of servers running worldwide WAN/LAN network
· Skills include monitoring server activity, daily/weekly backups and virus scans
General Skills:
o Self-starter and self-motivated
o Interpersonal and Negotiation skills - ability to effectively interact with staff, peers, and management
o Planning and Coordination skills - ability to effectively multi-task and progress many work items in parallel
o Strong technical writing and communication skills (document and communicate design concepts and conduct trainings)

o Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes
