Job Position:- Business Intelligence Analyst

Location:-  north Chicago, IL (Prefer Locals If Possible)

Duration:- 6 Month

Client is not looking for purely a technical developer; they are looking for an analyst that can both gather requirements and create reports using SQL (Oracle and MSFT) and prebuilt cubes, modify/enhance SSAS cubes, as well as train and document processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

·         Drive BI project from beginning to end

·         Analyze data utilizing available techniques to determine, document and communicate existing data

·         Develop and apply an understanding of various data analysis tools and how/when the tools are best applied

·         Facilitate meetings with each business to translate and simplify requirements

·         Partner with internal teams to define and prioritize informational requirements

·         Collect user requirements for reporting and identify best practices to drive enterprise efficiency

·         Create functional/technical requirements for low to moderate complexity reports

·         Write queries to return relevant business information that can be used to solve business problems

·         Create reports and data extracts against large data sets using SSAS prebuilt cubes and SSRS

·         Construct and execute simple to moderate SQL queries

·         Train end users on how to write, edit, modify and run reports and analytics

·         Other customization work using the user interface tools in IFS (example: create customer fields, create email notification events)

·         Must be able to hold technical conversations with IT staff AND interact with non-technical users to help them understand the toolset and become independently proficient

·         Ability to self-manage, quick learner

 

DELIVERABLES:

 

·         Demonstrate pre-built SSAS cubes in Excel to functional executives

·         Creation of functional requirement documents for analytic needs for each business

·         Creation of analytic reports or assist other business analysts as needed

·         Train business analysts to create analytic reports off of the SSAS cubes

·         Train end users to use and modify reports built off of the SSAS cubes
