Position : FLASH Developer RWD (Responsive Web Design)
Location : NYC, NY

Approximate Duration: 8 Months, Extendable

Position Description:    

As a FLASH/Front-end Web Developer with truTV.com, you will be working across the stack to build rich and innovative web applications and products (FLASH video, responsive web design, social media, HTML5, etc.) in a fast-paced, agile and team-oriented environment. Your responsibilities will include developing, integrating, testing, deploying, and supporting company¿s FLASH Video Player as well as other applications, and processes that deliver video content to the browsers on desktop and connected devices for truTV's brand family. We work with various technologies throughout the stack, including: ActionScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Backbone.js. We use PHP on the back-end and use Git, WordPress, Interwoven TeamSite (CMS), Twitter/Google/Facebook APIs and more.

Required Qualifications 

- 5+ years of professional software development experience.

- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree

- Excellent troubleshooting skills

- Proficiency in JavaScript and ActionScript

- Good knowledge of Flash Video Player or other digital media technologies

- Strong technical knowledge in video streaming, encoding, DRM a plus.

- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and fundamentals of computer science

- Demonstrates ability to master new technologies quickly

- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, highly technical environment Optional Qualifications

- Client-side technologies (HTML, JQuery, AJAX, CSS)

- Experience in video and video playback technologies.

- Familiar with Agile development methodologies.

- Working knowledge of HTML5 video standards a plus.

- Knowledge of video encoding technologies a plus.
