We are looking for a Release Manager with one our client at Austin, TX

Title                 : Release Manager

Duration         : 6+ Months and possibility of extension for long term contract

Location          : Austin, TX (Locals are highly preferred)

 

Skills/ Abilities:

 

·         Four (4) year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree a plus.

·         Three (3) or more years of professional experience in Managing Build and Release engineering, Java development, product development or testing in UNIX environment with a willingness to learn/excel in build and release.

·         Very strong Project Management experience performing ITIL RM /SCM activities.

·         Knowledge of RSCM concepts (code lines, branching, merging, integration, versioning, etc.)

·         Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills.

·         Clarity and precision in verbal and written communications.

·         Ability to work with customers, developers, testing, product management, support staff.

·         Familiarity with software development life cycles and agile programming methodologies.

·         In-depth understanding of large complex software systems to isolate defects, reproduce defects, assess risk and understand varied customer deployments.

·         Ability to learn new skills quickly as needed.

·         Understanding with the following tools:

o   SVN (Subversion)

o   ClearQuest

o   Git

o   Oracle

o   Java

·         Good Project Management skills with a strong technical understanding of Software Development Life-Cycle.

·         ITIL Transition certified.

·         Self-starter with ability to handle multiple, concurrent priorities and projects.

·         Strong negotiation and customer relations skills.
