JOB DESCRIPTIONS:



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Associates degree in computer programming or relevant field required. Bachelor degree preferred
• 8-10 years of experience required

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
• Project Management-type soft skills including strong verbal and written communication, problem solving, organizational and leadership skills needed to lead multiple migration projects simultaneously.
• Expert knowledge of Oracle databases (8-10 years), with history of managing DB migration projects and working with applications.
• Oracle GoldenGate in Java environments experience preferred.
• Experience with API management tools such as Mashery or Apigee preferred.
• Expert ability to work independently and manage one's time.
• Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
• Expert knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the migration of 10+ DB migration projects, often with several simultaneous projects.
• Work closely with applications teams and other cross-functional teams to manage project lifecycle to completion, controlling scope creep and working within budget guidelines.
• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
• Review and approve database development and determine project scope and limitations.
• Direct programmers and analysts during migrations and upgrades of existing databases and database management systems.
• Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions.
• Implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
• Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.
