Job description:
Seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our team in Novi, MI. Your time may be split between our office in Novi and the client's office in Saline, MI (near Ann Arbor). The successful candidate will produce accurate and complete technical documentation for the IT Division of a major automotive company. Your role will include data collection of existing documentation, conducting interviews with users to obtain information, investigating applications, and creating technical materials. Documentation may include product descriptions, user manuals, job aids, installation instructions, technical bulletins, systems maps and diagrams, and other technical publications.
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of Information Technology system infrastructure, platforms and tools.
Other must haves:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to independently research answers and solutions
Skilled in working independently and managing tight deadlines
Detail oriented and highly organized
Experience in automotive or Japanese business culture is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience: 1+ years creating technical documentation, 2 to 5 years on IT related projects
Education: Associate or Bachelor Degree in related field
Work hours: 40 hours/week (8am-5pm) with occasional overtime of 5-10 hours per week
Term: 3 month long term contract position. Contract may be extended up to 1 year.
